Choosing Colour Schemes

When choosing your colour scheme you should consider existing aspects of your home such as colours of your bricks, roofing, guttering, windows, fencing, garage doors, pools, tiling etc. You can also consider the surrounding natural environment such as green / grey colours for bushland, or sands / whites for beachside.

You may need to check with the council about restrictions such as heritage listed areas which will limit the choice of patterns / colours. Council permission is also needed to apply on any council areas.

You should also consider the directions of sunlight throughout the day. North facing will have strong sunlight thoughout the day. Colours will always appear lighter and hence south facing will be dimly lit.

Product Precautions & Limitations

The underlaying concrete surface will reflect in the qaulity of the finished job. Concrete areas which have structural cracks, are subject to continuous moisture, spalling or scaling. They have chemical contaminants on the surface, are structurally unsound, or are subject to ground movement. Areas such as these should not be coated with this product. If the customer wants to still proceed with the installation of the product, no guarantees / warranties will be given for cracks reapperaing / material breaking and chipping on the area done.

Concrete cracks present in the existing substrate may only be filled using recognised crack filling methods and techniques that will not prevent the re-emergence of the present cracks or elsewhere future concrete cracks resulting from undue influence of in-service use and environment conditions. Care & Maintenance (Pressure Cleaning & Resealing)

ADVICE FROM OUR SUPPLIER
PRESSURE WASHING & RE-SEALING

Once a decorative concrete floor is finished the best way to keep it looking great is to seal and protect its surface.

Your new resurfaced decorative concrete is treated with a top coat (sealer) to help produce an attractive surface that is easier to clean and maintain than unsealed concrete. The sealer works by blocking the pores of the concrete, providing a protective layer that helps stop dirt becoming ingrained and helps achieve a more consistant look.

This sealer wears over time, however if your driveway or other concrete areas done has been well maintained you will maximise the lifetime and look of your job by resealing every 18 - 24 months, or sooner depending on the aspects such as wear and tear, environmental factors etc.

The area needs to be cleaned with a pressure washing machine.

Always reseal with the appropriate sealer to suit your decorative surface and only apply to properly prepared and dry surfaces.

Advanced Spray pave offer pressure clean and reseal services. Which will take the pressure off doing it yourself. We will be happy to give you a free no obligation quote.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Looking after your decorative concrete surface.

Our material supplier manufacture some of the hardest wearing decorative concrete systems in the world. Given the right care and maintenance, your decorative concrete surface will maintain its colour and appeal. Some suggestions of looking after your decorative concrete would be to clean it regularly, avoiding debris to build up, removing any oil spills, brake fluid or any other chemical spills.

Essential Care: it is essential that your decorative concrete surface is resealed periodically in order to lock in the colour, protect the surface from impurities and maintain its glossy appeal. Please see above: Pressure Cleaning & Resealing.

Clear & Colour Sealer

As mentioned above clear sealer is used as a top coat to protect the resurfaced concrete. It adds a high quality gloss and needs to be recoated every 18 - 24 months in normal conditions for maintenance.

Colour Sealer has a large range of colours that is cost effective and is made up of two parts and mixed together before use. Colour sealer is basically used to colour plain concrete, but can be applied over decorative resurfaced concrete such as stamped, stencil and coloured concrete. We can advise you if this product is applyable to your existing concrete finish. As there are limitations.

Concrete Grinding & Polishing

Traditional natural polished concrete is created by using different grinding stages. A top coat of sealer is applied over it when grinded back.

It is easy to maintain and looks stylish. It transforms from a basic dull grey concrete to a hardened resistant floor. Polished concrete is highly influenced by the colour and size of stone within the concrete.
